Sophie frowned, biting her lip. Her head still ached, but the pain was slowly ebbing. Realizing that she and Landon were part of a select few that had gotten sudden headaches, she looked around as her eyes adjusted to the lack of light. Lots of people were still yelling and shouting about the power going out, but they didn't seem to be hunched over in pain or anything. Sophie noticed that some smart person had brought a flashlight, clearly prepared for any emergencies. She pulled out her phone, turning it on in order to add a little bit of light to their surroundings. She glanced at Landon, her other hand still on her throbbing head. "Do you think this counts as an emergency? We don't need to call 911, right?"

Lia was curled up in a ball on the floor, where she'd dropped just as soon as her head began to ache. Judging by their reactions, Zeke, Zane, and Zoey all had had the same symptoms that she did. She groaned. "If this was supposed to be part of the assembly, it sure was dumb," she muttered. She looked up at her possible-friends, wondering if they felt as bad as she did. What just happened? she thought to herself.
I can explain, a voice in her head said. A voice that wasn't hers.
Lia started screaming.
