Yellow Rain Boots A short poem By Twisted
I see her again, she follows me everywhere. Like a shadow, she always seems to be aware. I don’t know what to do anymore. What does our future have in store? She never speaks to me, she only watches. Standing under the walnut tree branches. Her yellow rubber boots never touch the mud. A trench coat clad on her body, a hat that rests on ebony hair. As if she were ready for a flash flood. I always feel so very cautious when she is nearby. As if disaster were about to ensue. But if anything, I feel calm and protected, I never know why. This girl in the rain boots, almond eyes look at me lovingly. Is this strange sensation only here fleetingly? As I see her figure in the shadow of the walnut branches. The girl watches me, her dark eyes following my every movement silently. I still don’t understand her existence, I often wondered if she was my guardian angel. Perhaps she was a girl who stays near me because she is a dear friend? I’m ashamed to say whoever she is, I’ve forgotten. This fog in my mind, I don’t remember. I feel as though I’ve committed a great sin. This girl who I see but no one else does. Who faithfully guides me even when it hurts. The girl in the yellow rain boots.
Notes: This was made based off of an actual thing I've seen beneath the walnut tree at my house, I'm not sure if it could be categorized as a hallucination or just dreams. Either way, it's about the image I saw a couple years back.

It's got everything that takes a poem from good to great.
It flows, has a rhythm and doesn't drag out. It's also really interesting that it's based off an actual occurrence! Very well done!
I love your work so far! Keep 'em coming!
