Prologue
In the land of Armentia, there was a King and a Queen. The Queen was pregnant, she expected a beautiful baby girl, and she received what she wanted; a beautiful, red-haired, green-eyed baby girl. Now this girl was born into a land of magic, yet the land also consisted of powerful technology. Armentia was a part of a dimension; there were portals that led to several other dimensions. The world wasn’t big enough to hold all of these dimensions, so they were separated, combined by these portals that a land named Lazuria created. All dimensions had been peaceful for several years, living in harmony, no major war appearing throughout the royals. A royal tradition between all dimensions was that when a new royal was born, a grand birthing ball would take place at that dimensions castle. During the ball, the name of the new royal child would be given and it would be spread throughout the kingdom. So that is what the King and Queen did. A ball was set up and was to take place a week after the newborn was born.
So on this day, a ball took place. Every royal around travelled to celebrate, hoping to get on good terms with the King and Queen, so that one day maybe they could make an arranged marriage. People were dancing and chattering, the hall decorated in Pale blue and white, the colors of Armentia. The lights were incredibly bright, the sources of these lights coming from bright orbs on the ceiling, made using magic from the King and Queen themselves. The newborn child was to be brought out near the end of the ball for the naming ceremony. So before hand the party stayed in full swing, entertainment all around and enough food for an entire kingdom.
Meanwhile, in the dark of the night, a man stood in all black, glancing at his golden watch, “it’s almost time Ralph.” He told the best next to him. The wolf let out a menacing growl of delight. The man looked at his watch again and nodded, “go tell the others it’s time.” He ordered, and the wolf took off into the night to tell the other people.
The King and Queen both glided up the castle stairs and into their daughters’ room. The red-headed child had already been awakened by the noises echoing along the entire castle and the maids dressing her in a golden dress, which was so tiny, yet so detailed. The Queen smiled and grabbed her daughter, her face alit with pure happiness as both the Queen and King went to the inside balcony, raised above the ballroom to present her. As they stood above everyone, holding their daughter, all the royals went silent, turning toward them.
The King’s voice rang out throughout the ballroom, the smile of happiness still etched across his face, “may I present Aria Elysian Lunette Armentia, Princess of Armentia!”
As soon as the cheering started, a big boom sounded outside, and the cheering went silent as people looked around confused, unsure of what the noise was from. Suddenly the room became instantly smoky as a wolf howled. People shrieked in surprise as some started coughing. Others were running to the exit of the castle, which the closest way out was through the entrance door. The screams became louder as people realized that the door had been locked from the outside. The King and Queen were frantic and in the next moment, Aria was taken from their arms. She screamed as she tried to retrieve her baby, the king waving his hands quickly, unlocking the entrance door as people started to pour out, sparks coming out of his own hands as he tried to stop the fire, but it was no use, it was already too big and engulfing the entire castle with its red substance. The fire reached the top of the balcony of the castle, as the King and Queen were trapped. The King shouted in pure agony as his trousers caught on fire, the Queens screams coming next. The fire started to move down the stairs and to the front of the castle as people ran for their lives, some escaping while others weren’t so lucky.
That night the fire burned the entire kingdom of Armentia down. Houses and businesses were destroyed as people were forced to migrate to other dimensions. Most royals had gotten away, but the entire kingdom of Armentia perished that night. The man in black held a baby girl in his arms as he smiled happily. The king and Queen would be very proud of his achievement. He entered a portal and disappeared, leaving the world to suffer, his wolf following him.
