I looked down at the piece of paper that has been given to me. "Hafingar", said my boss. "It's a miserable little village just off the coast of Uheksa". I flashed a puzzled look. "And you want me to....". I read about Hafingar once, that old town is a thugs paradise. What did he want me doing down there? "This is a simple errand, one of our own is down there." I still didn't get it. "I'm sure he can take care of himself". "SHE hasn't awakened yet". Ooooh ok, now I get it. "I'll get right on it then", I said as I got up to leave. My boss was silent for a moment. "Kamatz", he said, I turned. "This girl has a wolf spirit similar to your own. You two could make quite the team". I simply stared, then left.
"A wolf spirit similar to mine", I said to myself as upsetting thoughts entered my mind. I kicked them out. I quickly climbed a tree and bounded through the forest. My wolf spirit guides me. In the trees it tells me where to land, where to step, and when to jump. In combat it tell me when to dodge, when to guard, and where to strike. Right now, it guides me to my camp. I walk in my tent. It's a good sized shelter, not too small, somewhat homey. My spirit energy began to wriggle and writhe like like snakes. Looks like it's just gonna be one of those days.
I follow the disturbance and what do I find? Four thieves are attempting to steal my caught game. One of them turns to me. "Ah, what is this? Where art thou from? Come hither." I rolled my eyes. Everyone else in the land speaks in old english accent. My people made a new way of talking for reasons I will never understand. A pulled out two daggers. Holding one with a back handed grip and the other with a standard grip, I ran at the loudmouth. The others watched in amusement as the fourth drew his blade and charged. My opponent executed a sloppy swing of his blade. He left himself too open. I leaped, my feet hitting him square in the chest. On our way down I applied my foot to his head so it landed hard on the ground. He was out cold. The other three came running. They surrounded me. One tried the same sloppy swing as the last one. I Blocked it with my back hand gripped dagger and stabbed him in the chest with my other dagger. In order to get out of the triangle I was in I released the dagger in the man's chest and shoved his head down, and quickly rolled sideways over his back. My next opponent attempted a poorly executed stab. My wolf spirit told me exactly when to side step it. I hit person 1's head with the blunt end of my dagger to stun him just enough that I could quickly slit his throat. I turned to the last man and my wolf spirit screamed "DUCK!", so I did just enough to avoid a blow that would've cut my head clean off. Running my last opponent through with my dagger I realized how tired I was. Next on my list, a good night's sleep.
