In the end
Everything from those
Humid nights
Was thrown away-
Our daisy chains
Had too many weak links
And un-hooked themselves
From eachother-
(That or we
Wore them as "crowns"
So long they died)
Our friendship, too,
Became disregarded
As we grew older
And you turned
To "cool" for me.
(Weren't you just the hottest?)
We grew up
And out of our
Imaginations.
Turned into those
Walking different Moons.
I sit in the Dark Side,
Watching shadows dance,
And you are now in the Light,
Your beauty illuminated
By the soft white glow.
But still,
I wonder,
Sitting unseen
And gladly alone,
Do you remember lying
Benath the stars?
Stars'll never
All fade away.
Just like they spark
And light up the sky,
They spark and light up
My memories.
Remember our search
For every last constellation
(Well, the ones we'd heard of?)
And how we'd dance
And spin beneath
The star-laden world,
Calling ourselves faeries.
I remember,
As I sit beneath
The Stars and Moon
And weave another chain
Of daisies.
