They lied to me, to everyone, Spreading their hypocrisy, "It's okay to cry." They told me But when I broke down, They called me weak, Told me to speak up Then slapped my cheek For being cocky And loud They strut about And dare call me proud They mock me Provoke a scream Make me wish I could live in a dream, Yes; my head would be kinder I would be with you, Together with friends The few Who dare keep up With my insanity Yes, lets live there A dreamworld; such fantasy

This poem represents how modern day society operates especially when it comes to young women. It is why we as individuals should be ourselves and not depend on the opinions of others. Another great poem, looking forward to more from you!
